During Rihanna’s most recent visit to Barbados, she supported life-saving changes at The Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine (CBCONM) located inside the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in Bridgetown. The Clara Lionel Foundation donated what is currently the only piece of equipment at the hospital used to treat cancer. The acquisition of the new equipment offers state-of-the-art technology which will improve the quality of treatment and techniques among patients, greater reliability of services, timely access to oncology and nuclear medicine services, and new and more sophisticated radiation oncology treatment techniques.
This center which serves the entire population of Barbados provides the citizens of the island with better access to care for cancer in many years to come.
