Remember Rih Rih coming to town in July? The pop singer known for her killer vocals and (currently) red-red hair added a Birmingham stop to her LOUD tour to help raise money for tornado relief efforts around the state.

The city of Tuscaloosa said today that the Rihanna Benefit Concert gave a total of $89,000 to the Tuscaloosa Storm Recovery Fund. Proceeds from the concert were divided between three Alabama relief funds, including the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and a Nick’s Kids partner, Project Team Up.

“We are truly grateful for Rihanna and her team for this amazing contribution to the City of Tuscaloosa,” said Kristen Love, City of Tuscaloosa’s Liaison for Private Development in a release. “This donation will certainly help the long-term recovery effort as we continue to move Tuscaloosa forward.”

Money that is donated to the City of Tuscaloosa Storm Recovery Fund will be used to support the city’s five critical needs in the wake of the tornado damage: public services, parks and green spaces, education, social services and public infrastructure.
