Wild Thoughts, featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, ascends 4-3 in its second week on the Hot 100. It keeps at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (41.8 million, up 15 percent); dips 2-4 on Digital Song Sales (58,000, down 35 percent); and pushes 23-17 on Radio Songs (61 million, up 48 percent), winning the Hot 100’s awards for top streaming and airplay gains. Wild Thoughts also takes over atop Hot R&B Songs (2-1), marking Rihanna’s fifth leader on the list and the first each for Khaled and Tiller (dating to the chart’s 2012 launch).
Perhaps foretelling further chart fortunes, Wild Thoughts is the first song to debut in the Hot 100’s top 10 and then rise in rank in its second week since The Chainsmokers’ “Closer,” featuring Halsey, which arrived at No. 9 on Aug. 20, 2016, and climbed to No. 6 the following frame, on its way to a 12-week reign at No. 1. Wild Thoughts is the first song to debut in the top five and lift in its second week since Eminem’s The Monster, featuring (guess who) Rihanna, which started at No. 3 on Nov. 16, 2013, and rose to No. 2 the next week, before topping the Hot 100 for four weeks.
