With her new album, “Unapologetic,” on the way, Rihanna was all smiles in a Facebook Live chat with “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen on Thursday night.
Taking questions from Cohen and those offered by her Facebook fans, the social media superstar — she’s Facebook’s most popular person, with her Rihanna Navy numbering over 62 million — discussed her new album, her celebrity circle and her relationship with ex Chris Brown.
Though rumors have reconnected the pair, who split after Brown assaulted her in 2009, she told Cohen they’re “not together” — but he’s “dope”.
The question came in a “spill the tea” segment where Cohen quizzed her for quick answers on people in her orbit: Kanye West is a “genius”; Jay-Z, “even more genius”; Beyoncé, “gorgeous”; Mariah Carey, “her voice is an instrument, unreal”; Mary J. Blige, “power”; Lady GaGa, “crazy, but I love that”; Madonna, an early influence, “queen”; Eminem, “the shit”; and Nicki Minaj? “Ass.”
However, Rihanna says making “Unapologetic” kept her focused strictly on the studio.
“I was the worst friend,” she said. “I wouldn’t reply to my friends’ texts, I had no service in the studio. I worked day and night and it was hard for me to pay attention to frivolous stuff like the blogs.”
The album is due November 19, but she’ll preview it with a listening party at Jay-Z’s “40/40” Club that’ll benefit the Daily News Hurricane Relief Fund. She also announced a $100.000 donation to the Food Bank for New York that she’ll be making on Friday.
“It’s really difficult to see something so tragic going on and not be able to do anything about it,” she said.
