Rihanna is currently promoting her Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 2 that airs on Amazon Prime tomorrow. During online meetings she talked to People Magazine, Vogue and Associated Press.

Rihanna wants to have fun with new music

Rihanna told The Associated Press for her new album she’s already held “tons of writing camps” — where songwriters are put into groups to create original tracks for artists.

Now, she said she’s asked herself the questions:

What do I feel personally? What do I want to put out, and as an artist, how do I want to play it with my art? How do I want to interpret that? How do I want to reimagine it because it’s been so structured before?

She later added:

You do pop, you did this genre, you do that, you do radio, but now it’s just like, what makes me happy? I just want to have fun with music. Everything is so heavy. The world that we live in is a lot. It’s overwhelming every single day. And with the music, I’m using that as my outlet.

And she wants to go on tour!

I want to go on tour but I can’t, so I’m stuck with music that I love, and now I’m trying to figure out how I can even create visuals to that. That’s a challenge as well. But I love challenges so, you know, I’m gonna get it done.

Cheering up the world with fashion show

In the same interview with The Associated Press Rihanna said she wants to bring joy into this troubled world.

There’s a lot going on in the world right now and I relate to all of it. People need a little bit of hope, they need a little bit of happiness, and if we can bring a smile to their face and a little bit of fun while they’re stuck at home, it’s a desire and an honor to be a part of that.

She also addressed Savage’s first menswear collection.

I didn’t want this to be a boxers-are-for-men type situation and then we have to make a female version. I love wearing boxer briefs and when I saw him wear them in the show last year, a lot of people were really excited, our customers were excited.

Busy Rihanna finds a way to relax in 2020

In recent interview with Vogue Magazine Rihanna shared how 2020 influenced her work. Of her time in lockdown that she spent between California and Mexico she said:

I’m just lounging around, bumming out, and loving it. Robes are my new uniform. It’s comfortable, flexible, and easy. You can have thin ones, thick ones—why do anything else? You’re at home, no makeup, no weave. [I’m] chilling and doing what I have to do. Of course, I’ll put on clothes for a Zoom meeting every now and then.

Even though, for a control freak like Rihanna who always likes to get her hands on anything she releases, it wasn’t easy:

I want to have my hands physically on everything, and now it’s all being sent by email, pictures, and video, so it’s different. It’s kind of annoying for a control freak like me! Whether it was rehearsals or meetings for the creative, dancers, and models, everything had to be done virtually. There are a lot of moving parts, and we wanted to make sure everyone was healthy first and foremost. With the global pandemic, it’s tough, but we’re tough cookies, and we love a challenge!

But she found peace in those crazy times:

I’m paying attention to what makes me happy, appreciating the little things and taking advantage of them now that I have time to do them. It’s been inspiring [finding] my peace and my happiness; everything flows beautifully from that.

Rihanna talks to Access Hollywood about feeling sexy

Rihanna chatted with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans about her Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 2. She also revealed when she feels the sexiest:

When I feel naturally beautiful. When I feel like I was in the sun, I got a little tan, I don’t need no makeup, my skin in poppin’, my melanin is a little browner, my hair is curly. I feel confident, like, wow, I didn’t’ need any extra.” Adding, “I feel confident when I don’t have the accessories of societies’ beauty, honestly.

Rihanna is proud of her team

Rihanna talked to People Magazine about challenges that 2020 brought when it comes to organizing such a big event.

It was a completely different process this year. We had to work around the challenges of COVID-19, keeping everyone safe and their health at the top of our list. It forced us to figure out new ways to produce a show. We had to figure out ways to make this feel as visually enthusiastic as possible. I’m excited, and I’m proud of my team — we pulled it off.

Savage x Fenty Show Vol.2 airs exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on October 2, 2020.
