Rihanna is pressing forward after enduring the alleged beating at the hands of Chris Brown and recently released “nude” photographs with three BET Award nominations !
The “Disturbia” singer has landed multiple nominations for her role in T.I.’s 2008 smash “Live Your Life” including nods for Best Collaboration and Video of the Year.
Rihanna’s three nominations follow a performance of “Take A Bow” at the 2008 BET Awards where she was also nominated for “Best Female Artist”.
Unlike Rihanna, Chris Brown was missing in every award category including Best Collaboration and Best R&B Male. In fact, Brown is also missing in the Viewer’s Choice category where he had been nominated three times before at this year’s BET Awards.
Brown, currently facing felony assault charges, did not release a new album within the year but did score the summer hit “Forever” and had several collaborations toward the end of 2008 including “Superhuman”.
Ironically, Brown’s “Superhuman” partner, Keri Hilson, is leading the pack of Best New Artist nominees with an astounding four nominations including Best Collaboration for “Turnin’ Me On'” with Lil Wayne.
In the Best R&B Male category The-Dream, Jamie Foxx, Ryan Leslie, Ne-Yo and T-Pain will all face off.
Chris Brown is due back in court on felony assault charges in connection with his alleged beating of Rihanna later this month. He is also due to appear in the film ‘Takers’ early 2010 alongside T.I. and Idris Elba.
