Rihanna by Rihanna….because who is going to capture her beauty than the Queen herself? The new Do It Yourself Vogue Italia June issue sees Rihanna photographing and styling herself. We can see her in different arrangements.
Her June cover also makes her the second musician, after Madonna, in the history of Fashion to score covers of The Big Four: Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris, American Vogue and British Vogue. The term The Big Four is commonly used when a model completes all four covers and is considered one of the biggest achievements in the fashion industry.
The last time Rihanna posed for Vogue Italia was in 2009 when she was photographed by Steven Klein.
Director Emanuele Farneti writes in his editorial:
“In recent years we have tried to use our cover in many different ways: with photography or illustrations, or even without images. But we had never asked the cover stars to do everything by themselves: pose, photograph, choose what clothes to wear. If there was a right moment for this new experiment, it could only be the DIY issue, and there could not be a better subject than Rihanna – so many times on the covers, but never like this time in the version in which she and only she chose to show herself, without filters and mediations “.
