Rihanna rakes in her 28th career leader on Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart (dated Jan. 21), as Love on the Brain bumps 2-1. Originally a ballad, Love on the Brain was lifted into clubs via remixes from Barry Harris, Gigamesh and Don Diablo, among others.

In the tally of the most No. 1s in the chart’s 40-plus year history, Rihanna remains second only to Madonna, who has scored a record 46 No. 1s. Late last year, Rihanna was named the No. 3 Dance Club Artist in Billboard‘s Greatest of All Time recap of the ranking’s first 40 years.
Love on the Brain is Rihanna’s first No. 1 of 2017, following a year in which she earned four leaders, placing her in elite territory. Only four acts have scored four No. 1s in a calendar year, and Rihanna is the only one to do so four times (2007, 2010, 2011 and 2016). Lady Gaga tallied four in a January-December span twice (2009 and 2011) and Beyoncé (2009) and Katy Perry (2014) each earned the honor once.
