It’s been just over four years since Labrinth became one of a rare few acts to be signed to Simon Cowell’s record label without having to audition through The X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent. […] However, the star – real name Timothy McKenzie – is ready to take it to the next level with his second collection, which is led by new single ‘Let It Be’. We get the lowdown from the man himself on what’s to come next. […]
Labrinth wrote some songs with Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sandé, but they might give them to Rihanna instead.
“The records Ed, Emeli and I have done, we wrote some really good stuff, but they kind of weren’t right for any of us, and so it was just like, ‘Yeah, maybe Rihanna could sing this?’ So yeah, you’ll probably hear our work on somebody else’s album.”
After writing ‘Lost In Paradise’ for Rihanna’s Unapologetic, Labrinth is looking to work with her again soon.
“We’re going to do more. Rihanna’s a really cool girl and artist, so I’d love to do some more for her. I always submit music, but I think I like a personal touch. I’d rather feel the person’s energy than say, ‘Here’s some music – sing this!'”
