2006: It has been announced that Rihanna has been chosen to represent Clinique’s “Happy” fragrance in a new campaign to begin in December.
Rihanna’s fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo (who co-wrote “Unfaithful”) has been commissioned to compose an original song, “Just Be Happy” “expresses the spirit of happiness in music much the same way Clinique Happy does in fragrance.”
Clinique gave Rihanna a reason to be “Happy,” giving her an endorsement check for working in a advertising campaign for the fragrance. The “Just Be Happy” record written by Ne-Yo was recorded by Rihanna as part of the promotion.
