Rihanna has cancelled two shows and delayed the start of her coming world tour. The tour’s first eight stops — including San Jose, Phoenix, multiple dates in Texas, New Orleans and Atlanta — have shifted from February and March to May, a rep for the singer confirmed to the Times on Thursday.
She was also scheduled to perform in sports stadia in Cardiff, Wales and Sunderland, England in June, but the gigs will not go ahead due to logistical reasons.
Gary Hutchinson, the commercial director of Sunderland AFC,whose Stadium of Light was due to host the pop superstar, apologized to disappointed fans for the cancellation, saying, “Unfortunately this is something that can happen with major tours and naturally we are sorry for those concert-goers who were looking forward to the show.”
Prague show has been moved from July 26 to July 25. The tickets must be sent back and purchased again. The tickets for the Prague show will go on sale on February 24.
RiRi also added the following shows:
- Turin – July 11
- Barcelona – July 21
- Malmo – August 2
Tickets pre-sale: February 22; General sale: February 24. Make sure to keep checking Rihanna’s official site for updated tour dates.
