It was a big day for Rihanna and Rihanna Navy. Rihanna attended American Music Awards and was honoured with two awards: one for ‘Favourite Soul/R&B Female Artist’ and second, the most important because given to her by her mother, Icon Award.
RiRi didn’t walk the red carpet but her look from new Jean Paul Gaultier collection got everyone talking for sure.
Before the performance, a video of her achievements was played and Rihanna came out to sing her hit Diamonds. After the performance the Icon Award was presented to her by Jay-Z via satellite and her mother Monica. In her speech Rihanna thanked her mother for saying ‘Yes’ when she wanted to achieve her dreams; talked about her journey from Barbados to a worldwide superstar and her fans, who are always there for her.
