10 years of Rihanna

Read Time:3 minutes

Rihanna’s first single “Pon de Replay” was released on May 24th, exactly 10 years ago. During these 10 years we could see how Rihanna has grown as an artist. Now she is a businesswoman who is in charge of her music, fashion, charity projects and acting career.

When her first single came out, many doubted her. They said she would have been a ‘one hit wonder’. But here she is now, 10 years later, one of the most successful singers of ALL TIME. She has sold over 50 million albums and over 200 million records! She has over 16 million subscriptions on her official VEVO channel on YouTube and her videos were viewed more than 6.5 billion times. On Facebook she has 81 million fans along with 45.8 million followers on Twitter. She proved everyone who said she is a ‘one hit wonder’ wrong. And we were with her during this journey. And so she was with us, her fans. Rihanna always emphasized the fact how important we are to her and always found time to thank us for the support and interact with us. She is one of the few artists who treat fans as peers, friends. All we can say is that we could not ask for a better fave and cannot wait to see what next 10 years bring!

Over the years Rihanna won over 200 awards, including 2 icon awards:

  • American Music Awards Icon Award (2013),
  • Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Icon Award (2014),

and 8 Grammy Music Awards.

She released 7 amazing albums: Music of the Sun (2005), A Girl Like Me (2006), Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), Rated R (2009), LOUD (2010), Talk That Talk (2011), Unapologetic (2012).

She has 13 number one singles in the United States:

  • S.O.S (2006),
  • Umbrella (2007),
  • Take a Bow (2008),
  • Disturbia (2008),

  • S&M Remix ft. Britney Spears (2011),
  • We Found Love (2011),
  • Diamonds (2012),
  • The Monster ft. Eminem (2013-2014).

She designed collections for Armani and River Island and is now the ambassador of PUMA. She created six scents:

  • Reb’l Fleur (2011)
  • Rebelle (2012)
  • Nude (2012)
  • Rogue (2013)
  • Rogue Man (2014)
  • Rogue Love (2014)

In 2014 she organized her first annual charity ball: Diamond Ball. Funds raised from the Diamond Ball go into improving The Clara Brathwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, purchasing equipment and infrastructure planning. Before the ball Rihanna said:

“One of the greatest benefits of my job was being able to start the Clara Lionel Foundation in honor of my grandparents,” said Rihanna. “There is truly nothing I’m more proud of and we’ve just gotten started. I’m excited to continue my work and thrilled to be able to host the Diamond Ball – a night that promises to be elegant and inspirational.”

And we couldn’t be more proud of Rihanna who doesn’t forget about those less fortunate.

RiRi graced the cover of the most important magazines in the world including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W, V. She is praised not only by her fans but also by other artists and fashion icons. She recorded songs with legends such as Paul McCartney, Eminem, Jay-Z, Britney Spears.

On this special day we want to wish Rihanna many more successful years. She has it all: talent, brains, looks. Happy 10th anniversary!
