His recent show in New York created a bigger buzz around the label, allowing stylists and celebrities to see the latest gorgeous couture gowns his label has produced from Costarella fashion-central – Perth.
But the gown that caught her (and her stylists’) eye is a black and white couture floor length number called the Angelicus Gown, from the Spring Summer 09 New York runway collection.
The gown represents a departure from Rihanna’s usual on stage short and overtly sexy look. Problem is, it was designed for an Amazonian, extremely tall model.
Rihanna is 5’8. Costarella will have to make some big changes to the gown for Rihanna to be able to wear it.
“It is a very long gown so I don’t know how she will pull it off on stage,” Costarella says.
“We would have to whip quite a bit off the hem for a start. Compared to what she would normally wear on stage, this is quite different.”
Costarella would love to see the singer in the gown, and suggested it could be a good dress to wear while singing a ballad, rather than a high energy dance number.
“She has worn our dresses before and her stylist has recently pulled some other dresses for her from our New York show,” Costarella says.
