According to Nielsen SoundScan, Rihanna has sold more than 47 million tracks to the end of 2011 putting her ahead of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Beyonce.

Following its release in November 2011, the Bajan songstress’ latest album strikes gold. Less than two months after bowing on the charts, Rihanna’s sixth album ‘Talk That Talk’ has been certified gold for crossing the 500,000 threshold.

According to the RIAA (via RR), the LP achieved certification for shipment on December 16th, though it sold 500,000 following this past sales week. On this week’s charts, the album sits at No. 9 with an additional 42,000 units moved, upping its overall tally to 514,000 copies sold.

‘Talk That Talk‘ was originally released on November 21^st, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 197,000 copies sold.

After reaching 11 million followers on Twitter, and ruling over Facebook with over 48 million likes, Rihanna hits 2 billion Youtube views. Justin Bieber was the first artist to do so, followed by Lady Gaga, making Rihanna the 3rd artist to hit this huge number. Congratulations, Rihanna!

After peaking at #4 on iTunes as a non-single, the duet between Coldplay & Rihanna was announced as the third single from “Mylo Xyloto”. And now it’s time for some live performances. There were rumours for the past months that Coldplay & Rihanna will perform together at the Brit Awards this year, but no one can really confirm it. In the meantime, Rihanna reveals she would love to perform with the band, saying:

I think Chris Martin is a special guy. His songwriting is just beautiful and I am a huge fan. If they want me to sing with Coldplay, I will be waiting for the call. I’d love to perform with them.

This year’s Brit Awards will take place at the O2 Arena on February 21.
