Adele, LMFAO and Rihanna are among the lead finalists for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, with Adele snagging spots in 18 different categories. Rihanna is up against the “21″ singer in the prestigious Top Artist category, which also includes top finalists Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne and Katy Perry. Speaking of Rihanna, the pop superstar is a finalist in 13 categories this year, after leading the pack with 18 category appearances in 2011.

The awards will reflect Billboard’s chart rankings based on key fan interactions with music, including album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay and touring as well as streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, Youtube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.

The 2012 Billboard Music Awards will take place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand and be broadcast live Sunday May 20, 8/7c on ABC.

Rihanna was photographed signing one of the guitars at The 54th Annual GRAMMY Charities Signings at Staples Center yesterday. Only one photos is available right now.

After peaking at #4 on iTunes as a non-single, the duet between Coldplay & Rihanna was announced as the third single from “Mylo Xyloto”. And now it’s time for some live performances. There were rumours for the past months that Coldplay & Rihanna will perform together at the Brit Awards this year, but no one can really confirm it. In the meantime, Rihanna reveals she would love to perform with the band, saying:

I think Chris Martin is a special guy. His songwriting is just beautiful and I am a huge fan. If they want me to sing with Coldplay, I will be waiting for the call. I’d love to perform with them.

This year’s Brit Awards will take place at the O2 Arena on February 21.

We’re not sure if ‘Song of the Year’ category counts for Rihanna. The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will be handed out live February 12, 2012 at 8 PM ET on CBS.

The nominations for the Virgin Media Music Awards were revealed recently, and our princess have received 4 nominations in the following categories :

Making for quite the star-studded spectacle, the 2011 American Music Awards took place at Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday night (November 20). Rihanna wasn’t able to attend the show because she performed on UK X Factor. Anyway, Rihanna was nominated in 3 categories and won one award in Soul/R&B Album category.

She is nominated in “Favourite R&B Artist” category along with Beyonce, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars & Ne-Yo. She is also nominated in the category “Favourite Pop Artist” along with Beyonce, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry & Lady Gaga.
