Rihanna has stated that she doesn’t intentionally set out to be controversial when it comes to her music videos.

The 24-year old, whose promos for singles S&M and We Found Love have been censored due to their explicit content, claims she doesn’t mean to cause controversy, adding it’s a way of expressing herself.

Speaking to Radio Times, RiRi explained:

“I never do anything to get banned, never do it for controversy. It’s always just honest and at times I just go a little too far for some.”

“When I make a music video, it’s a piece of art. It’s four minutes to make a visual, for people to understand the message in the song.”

Last month, the Bajan beauty was forced to clear up reports that she dresses provocatively to be controversial, telling Access Hollywood:

“I don’t do things for the response or for the controversy. I just live my life.”

During her interview with Radio Times, the Talk That Talk singer also spoke about her part in new movie Battleship, admitting she had no idea who director Peter Berg was when meeting him to discuss her role.

RiRi exclaimed:

“I just knew that I had a meeting, and this guy just started talking and showing me lots of pictures of aliens. It was not until the end that I realised he was the actual director of the film.”

When asked what she brings to the flick, Robyn  joked:

“What do I bring to the movie? My bad ass-ness, and my buns. That’s what I bring.”
